Experienced RiderCourse
Experienced RiderCourse (ERC) You’re good...we’ll make ya better!

No matter how long you have been riding, this course will make you a better and safer rider.

This one day course, typically held on Saturdays or Sundays, is for riders who already own and ride a motorcycle and are interested in state-of-the-art motorcycle handling techniques or for brushing up on their safe street riding skills. Increasing numbers of seasoned riders are coming to the Experienced RiderCourse to fine-tune their riding and mental skills needed for survival in traffic.

You'll discuss with your peers how to balance the mental and physical aspects of safe riding, managing risk, increasing visibility and optimizing lane position. The course also covers protective gear, rider responsibility, motorcycle inspection and care, and the effects of alcohol and other drugs on riding.

On the range, using your own motorcycle, you will put into practice intense riding activities, including the techniques of managing traction, slow speed handling, stopping quickly, cornering and swerving.

To qualify for participation in the ERC, you must have at least three (3) months riding experience and have a motorcycle endorsement on your driver's license. Riders must provide a street-legal bike that passes a safety inspection (T-CLOCS) and provide proof of insurance and ownership. If the motorcycle is not owned by the rider, a notarized, written approval from the owner to use the motorcycle in the course must be provided. KICKSTART COURSE $50.00
This a prep course for the Basic RiderCourse for those with no motorcycle experience. While not required prior to taking the Basic RiderCourse, these classes are very small with emphasis on teaching basic control to riders with no riding experience.

KickStart Course
The KickStart Course uses the MSF’s Introductory Motorcycle Experience (IME). It allows the novice rider to gain familiarity and comfort with the motorcycle before taking the Basic RiderCourse (BRC).

It is a 2-3 hour, first-touch experience with a motorcycle and not designed to teach a person to ride. As a familiarization program that points out the primary parts and controls of a typical motorcycle, it helps a potential rider determine whether motorcycling is a good personal choice. A person is given the option to manipulate the controls while astride a motorcycle, and is led into a BRC as a formal way to learn to ride. Also embedded in the experience is a self-assessment component to ensure a person is aware of the risks and requirements for being a good, safe and responsible rider.

The KickStart Course can be given just about any time during the week and on most weekends. Call to set one up. If you aren't sure if you should take this course or not, call us we can help.

Novice riders that complete this course find they are quite comfortable with the motorcycle and better prepared for the BRC. (Note: This course is not required before taking the BRC, it is simply a way to help prepare the true novice rider.)
